Episode 5 J3

Jimmy "J3" Floyd III is a producer born in Grand Rapids, MI. Rapping was always a passion of his during the mid 80's early 90's, when he spent time listening and reciting lyrics from artist he couldn't buy (because of his age), but the advantage of an older brother allowed him to stay tuned in. Late 1993 he started dabbling in beat making getting his start by working on his friends Roland Dr-5 drum machine. From that point on making the music became more of a passion than rapping. In 1999 he signed a local production deal with Amiracle records and collaborated on a compilation album that dropped called The Rebirth, producing 2 songs on the album and assisting with artist growth and development. Episode 4 M.R.S. ART

Melissa Selmon was Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, and received her B.A. in Art & Design in 2004 from Grand Valley State University. Melissa R. Selmon's artistic focus is the relationship between emotions and children's facial expressions. Most of her inspiration comes from taking photographs of children. Her work reflects the journey of her life through the emotion she conveys in each piece. She works mostly in charcoal and mixed media because she feels that black and white medium deepens the meaning of her work. Her primary inspiration is Diane Wright (A local artist and former Art Instructor).

Episode 3 Deanna

Deanna Devore grew up in Toronto, Ontario, before heading to Chicago in 2006. Working with producer Bjorn Thorsrud, she recorded a self-titled seven track EP in early 2007. Following its release, she assembled a band with cellist Michelle Morales, keyboardist Dan Moulder, bassist Jody Miller, percussionist Shawn Rios, and vocalist Nisha Chawla for performances in Chicago and the Midwest, New York, and Toronto. A full-length album is expected in summer 2009.

Episode 1 Ammerman

Matt Ammerman is a singer and songwriter born in Louisville, KY. Currently living in Chicago his journey is truly felt and experienced through his music. Matt started recording at the age of 6 on a tape recorder in his bedroom, but it was learning to play the guitar at the age of 13 that really set him free. "After picking up the guitar, I could sing and accompany myself, for me, that combination was magical I couldn't stop doing it. I started to write like mad...It became a big deal in my life, even before I played in front of anyone," Said Matt. Stevie Wonder, Kevin Smith and Electric Light Orchestra are just a few of the artist that would have an impact on Matt at an early age. A few months ago I sat down and talked to Matt about music, life and what the future holds for him.
